is there... one? a deviantart community? it's just kind of funny- I get MORE FEEDBACK on my art on TUMBLR than on Deviantart, and Tumblr doesn't even encourage discourse! (To those unfamiliar with Tumblr: there is no basic comment/response entry box template, everything is "reblogged" or 'd unless you specify that you want responses [in which case people can reply to a post, but you can't reply to their comment directly] and allow people to write in an "ask box," but still, the system doesn't lend itself to conversation.) I don't know if the rising popularity of Tumblr and it's "no-comment-just-reblog" tendencies is the cause of th

though not necessarily a webcomic problem is, I don't understand cheap printing and how to do it right why don't they make tutorials on printing your own mini-comicbooks for cheap, huh? I have so many different ideas for comics in my head that i feel like I just need to sit down and start. I'd like to do one black/white stupid/funny comic with no serious artistic intent except to be kinda cute with a story. and i'd like to do one abstract/artistic (like igort's "baobab") comic with a more serious tone and poetic/indirect storyline. i don't really know why I posted this here except for maybe if anyone knows much about self-publishing. an

So I recently bought a new 35mm SLR, the Olympus OM10. I took my first roll on Saturday, and am happy with the results. I plan on taking way too many photographs this summer, and so far have only been updating them to my blog and tumblr. I can't tell if you guys like photography enough to care about seeing it on this account.. I've never considered my photography to be artwork, but a few photos from this last roll made me start to reconsider the possibilities of the medium. Should I start uploading some of my photos to dA, or leave them to the blog/tumblr?

Hey there,
I'm a PHD student from the Netherlands.

I would very much like to use the photo of your statue "Frailty" as the cover for my final dissertation on rituals of the elderly in rest and nursing homes. I think it is an incredibly strong image, both beautiful and grotesque, that perfectly depicts what I encountered during my research.

Could you please let me know if I can use it. It goes without saying that you will be mentioned clearly as the creator, of course.

With high regards,

Kavaleer
I really like your work. It's interesting and entertaining.
May I just say that I am truly inspired by you. You rart is so lovely, and your style is superb. You have influenced me, and now.....I shall go paint. :)
your art is fantastic and moving. i am truly inspired.
Dude you fucking rock.
You know any particularly good pieces by lenora carrington by chance?

Her subject matter, is more ambigous but has an undlining theme most all of the the time, usually mytholtical.

Her stuff's inspired by an older time period also, if don't already know of her.
Your freaking gallery, man. It's fantastic. Also, YOU are adorable! Keep up the brilliant work.
